My Mission
Fantasy with a dollop of humor and something more
I write fantasy and sci-fi because someone had to, and because there weren’t nearly enough sarcastic run-on sentences holding entire magical economies together by sheer punctuation. My mission is to stitch humor, chaos, and the occasional Kraken into the genre until even the dragons need a holiday. If my books make you laugh, gasp, and question why Ministry paperwork is always more terrifying than the monsters, then I’ve done my job. If not, please blame the copyeditor.
But beneath the sarcasm and squid ink, there’s something deeper pulling the threads. I grew up reading The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings—worlds that whispered of something greater than ourselves, something beyond this place. As C.S. Lewis wrote, ‘If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.’ Fantasy, to me, is the echo of that truth—a reminder that we are meant for something more. As a Christian, I believe imagination itself is a gift, a spark lit by the original Creator, and every story I write is my attempt to create in conversation with Him.
So yes, there will be jokes, bureaucratic goblins, and more run-on sentences than even Charles Dickens could love. But behind it all is that same beckoning I felt as a child turning the pages of Lewis and Tolkien: the call toward something higher, holier, and infinitely more wondrous than we can yet imagine. If I can capture even a glimmer of that and share it with others, then every talking racoon and every comma will have been worth it.
Because every book should do more than sit on a shelf
Writing has always been more than just words on a page for me—it’s a passion, a calling, and a gift. It’s the thing that gives my life meaning and purpose, and the way I feel most connected to something greater than myself. To that end, I want to do good with this gift. That’s why I pledge that 20% of all proceeds from my bookish adventures will go to charities and organizations in Japan dedicated to supporting the Christian community there.
If you know of such an organization—or if you are part of one yourself—please feel free to reach out. I’d love to see how we can collaborate in this mission together. After all, stories are meant to ripple beyond the page, and this is one way mine can.
Soli Deo gloria.
